Exhibition at the John Innes Centre
Reflection
There is no doubt that the selection of work featured within this exhibition is of different styles with a variety concerns at heart. Having said that, there is definitely a cohesion between the collection that has focused on research at its core. The subtle connections between placement have opened up some of the words fro further interpretations, enriching the dialogue between the science equipment and contemporary artwork. I found my work in particular gained a huge amount of context by being displayed inside the display cabinet, adjacent to the achieved rare books. They didn't draw attention to themselves, instead presenting a contemporary explanation to the work of the historical botanist.
