Looking at the carvings I wonder who made them, were they made by one or more people? What are there meanings? Were they made over time to symbolise traits of different people? Why was the original work cut into pieces and left by the river? Was it originally a worked designed for this location or was it moved? How were the carvings made, by amateur or expert? What type of knife was used to made these marks?
