Challenged with making a sculpture from random materials, I wanted to create something that combined hand crafted skills such as knot tying with plastic wrap - a modern material to create a dialogue between the two objects. By using the knots on the exterior I place a sense of worth on the interior, as if they are guarding or protecting a precious cargo within. I think If I were to try and develop this work future I would research into knot in more depth and use a higher range of varieties of knots when designing and binding work together.
