Quick thought about natural placement, Is it in the nature of sticks to always become piled up? Is it in there destiny as an object? Or is it human nature to collect and bundle things together? Is it in our primitive nature to make structures for height, or preservation? Do we naturally like making things with our hands, and collecting is just a response of that need?
