What can be sculpture?
Reflection
After spending some time at the beach and consider what is a object, I found a number of structures that I felt that could be thought of as sculpture even though they have been built to serve another function, as the nature of art changes so to does its function. Why can't a sculpture be a shadow, or a rusting beam or metal post? If the concept of the work is there, then why does the object need to be created by the artist, I find more and more that I am attracted to the thinking behind the object more then anything else. This is changing the way I develop my own art practice, as I see myself as an investigator as much as an artist.
