Reflection
"Objects are tool of life necessary to do and to communicate" This quotation, taken from the text above describes all objects as being tool, which we have invented and built in order to survive and prosper, however this differs slightly from my views on the object, as I see the object to be anything from man-made or natural occurring entities. As soon as man picks it up, it inherent meaning and a purpose, and starts a new life. Although objects can be seen as tools, so can rocks and woods and other naturally occurring things, The object therefore, is what we will it to be. Objects in art are another matter altogether, therefore it is the job of the artist to give the objects meaning and to highlight or invent a narrative that the work can be formed around. The art object usually void of it traditional function, is staged to illustrate a concept or aesthetic, and can be seen as a telescope into another realm commenting back to us on the unknown. This is what I am experimenting with within my own work currently, the use of objects as a sign or telescope into another way of seeing the myth or narrative that encapsulates everything.
