Neonlumberjack - Instagram Feed
Reflection
The balance between life and death has always been a fragile one, this is well illustrated within the work of neonlumberjack, who's painted bones and crystallised bee's certainly exude a day-of-the-dead feel. The forms seems almost abstract after they have been edited. I like the concept of these intimate sculptures being publicised on an Instagram page, as it seems to be the opposite of the nature of the object. The salt and bones creations that I have been experimenting with within my own practice share some similarities with the work of Neonlumberjack, mostly through the materials used rather then the concept behind the work, still I will use these pieces as inspiration for my own work.
